Pericentrin is probably a conserved integral component of the filamentous matrix of the centrosome involved in the initial establishment of organized microtubule arrays.
Approx 75kDa band observed in HeLa lysates (calculated MW of 75kDa according to NP_079120). Recommended concentration: 1-3µg/ml. Please note that, in contrast to other anti-Pericentrin antibodies available, this ab is NOT expected to recognize Kendrin (also known as Pericentrin 2). This may explain why it recognizes a 75KDa band (the expected size according to NP_079120) and not a 220kDa band (as reported for other anti-pericentrin antibodies).
