Exodus 2 is one of several CC cytokine genes clustered on the p arm of chromosome 9. Cytokines are a family of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The CC cytokines are proteins characterised by two adjacent cysteines. Similar to other chemokines the protein encoded by this gene inhibits hemopoiesis and stimulates chemotaxis. This protein is chemotactic in vitro for thymocytes and activated T cells, but not for B cells, macrophages, or neutrophils.
Neutralization: To yield one-half maximal inhibition [ND50] of the biological activity of hExodus-2 (100.00 ng/mL), a concentration of 6.0 - 8.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. ELISA: To detect hExodus-2 by direct ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution) a concentration of at least 0.5 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, allows the detection of 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hExodus 2. Sandwich: To detect hExodus-2 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5 - 2.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with our Biotinylated Anti-Human Exodus-2 (XP-5128Bt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hExodus-2. Western Blot: To detect hExodus-2 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 µg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant hExodus-2 is 1.5 - 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
Anti-hExodus-2 specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing immobilized hExodus-2 matrix.
