The UVP ChemStudioSA2 Imager is an upgradeable, chemiluminescence and gel imager for high sensitivity imaging of Western blots, gels, Coomasie Blue, GelGreen, SYBR Green and several more applications.

• Stand-alone system with an integrated 15.6 touch screen, which includes UVP's VisionWorks touch software, with automated, image acquisition, and enhancement
• A height adjustable fold down tray is located inside the darkroom, for imaging blots closer to the lens

The imager features a choice of deeply cooled (-57°C) cameras for low noise, image capture in long exposure applications

Choose from a 2.1 MP camera with an f/1.2 zoom lens, or an 8.1 MP camera with an, f/0.95 lens, for fast capture. Lenses feature manual or motorized control. The darkroom includes overhead white lighting with optional UV and blue light. UV transillumination is included with the option for single UV (1 UV) or three UV (3 UV) wavelengths and filter sizes ranging from 21x26cm to 25x26cm.

The built-in multi-touch screen (TS) Software, features Templates for automation of image acquisition and enhancement features, such as compositing for multiplex applications. Acquisition settings such as autoexposure, focus, zoom, lighting and filter selections can easily be saved and reused, for one-touch capture. The imager can connect over wireless network for simple transfer of files and data. Additionally, 7 USB ports are available for connecting to a keyboard, mouse and other accessories.

An ethidium bromide filter is included and additional filters are available for purchase. Add a BioLite MultiSpectral Light Source for RGB, NIR and multiplex imaging applications. The BioLite supplies overhead excitation of fluorescent multiplexed Western blots, DIGE 2D gels, PAGE gels and more. Filters are available for specific wavelength requirements.

The imager is modular, allowing the addition of accessories for maximizing imaging capabilities. The LED White Light Plate, plugs into the darkroom, for uniform transillumination white light of Coomassie Blue, Silver Stained and other gels requiring white light transillumination. For illumination of gels with blue light, the Visi-Blue Converter Plate converts UV to 460-470nm. For epi UV illumination, UV Lamp Modules can be inserted inside the darkroom. Select from shortwave (254nm) or longwave (365nm) UV lamps. Two lamps are recommended for illumination from sides of the darkroom.
Additional accessories are available for white or blue transillumination.
