The Eppendorf BioSpectrometer fluorescence is an expansion of the BioSpectrometer basic and features an integrated fluorescence module
Applicatons include dsDNA quantification down to 1® pg/µL with common kits, e.g., Pico Green®; ssDNA quantification down to 10® pg/µL; RNA quantification down to 20® pg/µL; Oligo quantification down to 10® pg/µL; protein (BSA) quantification down to 0.01® ng/µL; quantification of GFP-binding proteins; and growth measurement of GFP-binding bacteria.
Measurements can be flexibly executed in the UV/Vis or fluorescence range. The Eppendorf BioSpectrometer fluorescence can be used to increase the measuring range by a factor of 1,000, for biomolecules (nucleic acids and proteins) compared to UV measurements. Additionally, fluorescence dyes allow a more accurate and reliable quantification due to the fact that these dyes bind specifically to the target biomolecule. UV/Vis spectroscopy and fluorescence are complementary methods. The Eppendorf BioSpectrometer fluorescence is the first spectrophotometer on the market that combines both these measuring methods in one small, compact device. In combination with the micro-volume cuvette, Eppendorf µCuvette® G1.0, it can measure dsDNA from 1® pg/µL to 1,500® ng/µL.
