Extract insects and small invertebrates from soil samples or leaf litter most effectively. Using this deluxe model, you can place a larger amount of matrix in the apparatus at one time; a plastic screen is enclosed by durable muslin material to keep the matrix trapped while the apparatus is in use. Simply dump the matrix through the opening in the top of the apparatus and pull the draw string closed. As you grip the two 8" handles on opposite sides of the apparatus and shake, organisms will fall through the screen, down a fine polyester netting, and land in a receptical you provide secured at the tool’s other end with the integral draw string. The unit is collapsible for easy storage and transport. Overall size: 12 1/4"dia. x 40"L.
